In this clip Nada Dbouk describes her childhood home in Total [an area just south of the village of Tibnin where the Irish Transport Platoon used to be stationed] living next door to Irish soldiers in the 1990s. She recalls how they would give her chocolate and custard yoghurts and she describes sheltering in the soldiers’ house during bombardments. Nada discusses her uncle’s restaurant and the ‘double-doubles’ he made for Irish soldiers. A double-double consists of chips and fried eggs wrapped up in Lebanese flat bread.
