In this clip Hassan Fawaz speaks about how unusual it was to see European people in South Lebanon when UNIFIL arrived. He recalls the Irish and Norwegian camps in Tibnin. Hassan speaks about his life in Tibnin in 1981, living in a one room basement apartment and driving a minibus and taxi for a living. He speaks about meeting with an Irish officer and giving him a tour of Tibnin while driving him to Camp Shamrock. Hassan explains that he was a fluent English speaker which was unusual at the time and as a result he began working as a messenger and driver with the Irish Battalion at the end of 1981.
